Been a while

OK.. sorry to my readers...if there are any.  I have been very busy and simply forgot to blog a bit.

Lemmmme see...we've started school.  Got a 5th grader and 3rd grader now!!! WOW!! Do you believe it??  Once baseball and soccer was over, we just hung out at the new house...kids played with friends, rode bikes, rollerbladed, played football whatever, until dark.  I started my new job at the middle school August 7th.  The kids spent time at their grandparents while I worked and got back into the swing of things.  School started August 15th. It was an easy transition for us all...the new school has great potential and I've heard nothing but great things about it.  More recently, we learned that 5th graders can try out for sports at the middle school (they ARE next door to eachother)....so of course, the day I heard that baseball was having sign-ups, I put our information down.  He might not get on the team as a starter with the 6-8 graders...but at least he is going to try.  As soon as track, cross country and archery are open, he plans on trying for those too.

Soccer season is here.  Hubby is coaching .... we play on the REVOLUTION.  Of course, I get to be team mom!  Should be very interesting, there are only two girls on the team...one is not as aggressive as our soccer girl!!  I will be cranking up the camera soon, her first game is Thursday September 6th.

Shortly after soccer started, fall baseball started.  Since we are moving up to the 10 yr old league (Major), we are doing fall ball to get use to the rules and changes.  He's doing fine...hopes to catch, but we have another possible hurdle...a coach that does not care for a lefty to be catcher.  So they've started him at 1st during practices...he's one of I think TWO lefties on the team. He's worked on his switch hitting and is getting better.  His first game is September 8th.

Both kids are in Scouts.  We have Tuesday's that is Scout day for them both.  Her's is at 4:30 and he goes at 7pm.  Unfortunately, we've got conflicts with his ball schedule...seems they play just about every Tuesday at 6 and he's going to miss either entire games or 1/2 of them...some of the times.  He can't miss Scouts...he's got to finish his Webelos requirements THIS YEAR!  Both of them are starting on the GOD AND COUNTRY requirements for Scouting...a year long process from what I've heard.

Work is kicking my butt...mainly getting back into the technical mindset.  Fighting operating systems...learning the lingo again.  Amazing what being out of it regularly for 5 yrs can do to you.  Fortunately, I'm in a learning environment...where folks are okay with me researching for answers.  I try to fix things first....and usually it comes back to me.  I've spent most of my time cleaning up rooms that were piled with junk no one had touched in years.  Discovering a floor in our A/V room was a major accomplishment.  I have not really got an office yet...I'd like one...but I'm never sitting still.  I work on PCs in the A/V --- WORKROOM... or I'm going between floors helping in classrooms.  Good for me...the excercise...but sometimes....just sitting down is nice.  I've taken on the yearbook advisory position at the middle school...the stipend is nice to get...though it's not much...I'm glad to just be doing it.  I'm starting up a yearbook staff of students so it will be fun!!  I'm also on the PTO at the kids' elementary school...where I've volunteered to also do their yearbook.  I've gotten a few ladies that said they'd help...so that will be fun too!!  I am just loving the work..getting involved is fun...

More to come soon....stay in touch!!!!
